Fall is in the air and the 2021-2022 school year is almost 25% complete! We are seeing good things happen during our remodeled BrainTime, we’ve eaten some tasty dinners, and we’ve had a lot of fun sneaking a bit of learning into our nightly activities. We must give credit to our program staff – they’re learning and growing every day so that they can give our community the very best. If you think you’d like to join them, be sure to check out our employment opportunities.
We’ve offered swimming lessons on Fall Fridays for many years. It’s always been a rewarding program and I believe it is a great skill for our youth to gain. However, with the completion of the playwave at the river last year, I truly believe it is more important than ever. Even if a child never desires to become a competitive swimmer or a fish in the water, learning life-saving techniques is invaluable. We are grateful to Del Norte Bank for supporting this program for the past five years.
Our 3rd to 6th graders just finished volleyball. Both teams were amazing. Unfortunately, the 3rd-4th grade team was not able to attend tournament games due to quarantine, but our 5th-6th grade team made it through the season undefeated and took 1st place at the SLV Youth Volleyball tournament. Congrats!
As we begin our basketball season, we encourage you to remember that ethics, good sportsmanship, hard work, and kindness are the foundation of great teams. Coaches and officials are volunteering their time; a little grace and understanding will go a long way!
If you have questions or concerns, please stop in and say hi or give us a call – we want to hear from you!
